First update in over a year!
Not posted here in forever. So I thought it was time for a small update!
Since last post I have completed my weight loss journey, complete a 10km and marathon! Next race is coming up next weekend!
Last year I also fulfilled another long held dream of mine. I visited Japan for the very first time and it was just as amazing as I expected it to be! My trip was not planned but rather a spontaneous thing as I wanted to meet a very special friend of mine. Best thing I ever done! Will be going back again this year.
As for today I'm taking it easy soaking up the wonderful spring sun. A run later is a must!

Rain and more rain!
Last week it has been raining a lot. I promised myself to keep up running despite the weather and so I have done.
Got of work at 6:am last saturday, got home swapped into my running clothes despite it being rainy and windy. It was not even particularly warm, but the run had to be done!
The rain I have no problems with at all. I rather like running when its raining, the problem is the other two things; Wind and Cold. But no matter I bought clothes to be able to handle this kind of weather as well!
Got myself yet another pair of running shoes about a month ago. This time I picked up a pair of Nike Pegasus 31. After putting alot of km into them I can only say its more or less like running on clouds. Excellent shoe for everyday running!
Weight has been keeping steady and holding around 76kg-76.5kg really happy with this! I feel better than I have in many years!

Time does fly!
It's been ages since my last update. So I though it was time I posted one!
I have since like a month or two ago reached my goal weight and surpassed it! As it stands today my weight is now 76,6kg, my original goal was 81kg.
Come along way from where I started back in February, back then I weighed in at 102kg. I was very sceptical I could make it to begin with, but once I got started everything just fell into place! Always liked running but today I LOVE IT!
Even though my goal is reached, I will continue to run and aim to run at least one Marathon next year.
Autumn and winter is upon us but I don't plan to stop running either way. Clothes for the colder and wetter weather is already bought and being used.
I'm ready to take on the challenges winter will bring!

New daily running shoe!
A few weeks back I came across a brand of shoes I had never seen before. Karhu it's called, the name means bear in Finnish as I understand it.
I came across them in an sport outlet for a really decent price. Decided to buy them an give them a go. Must admit I was pleasantly surprised! Before I used a pair of Asics as my daily running shoes cause they had such a nice and cushioned ride, however they where starting to show signs of wear. Thus the reason I decided to take a look in the sport outlet to begin with.
Having now used the Karhu Smart (which is the model name) for a few weeks and raked up quite a few mil (not to be confused with the UK miles). I don't regret the purchase even a tiny bit! The shoes have a really nice feel and the fulcrum system that Karhu use really seem to work as advertised, the ride is smooth and you really feel it pushed you to land correctly.
Thus far there is only one flaw I myself found with this shoe and its the long shoelaces, it has happened a few times that the laces on one of the shoes comes undone mid run, forcing you to stop and tie it.
Other than this small complain it is a simply amazing shoe!
Its great.. yes.. very green and I like it!

Update!
Been awhile since I updated this blog so I though it was time I did so! Been much with work lately so time has not been around to write.
Since last I wrote I have reach a weight at around 84-85kg depending on what time of day I weigh myself.
I have also invested in a heart rate monitor to more accurately get a sense of calories burnt during my jogs. I decided on the Wahoo Tickr as it does work with Android, I'm not sure it does work with all android devices though so don't take my word for it. With my Nexus 5 however it works flawlessly.
At first I had to use the Wahoo app to track my jogs and then sync with Runkeeper but since the latest update of Runkeeper it can now pair with the Wahoo Tickr directly which is great and saves me a few steps in settings things up.
Running the same route as I have tracked countless times with Runkeeper before my calories burnt with the added data of the HR monitor seem to be a bit higher in general I guess as it has more data to work on to do a more just estimate.
So for the price you really can't go wrong with the Wahoo Tickr, if you are looking for a HR monitor to get more accurate data for your fitness progress. The only con I really can say is that the box does not state it actually work with some Android devices and just looking at it you would believe it only supports Apples line of phones.
I keep working hard on improving my fitness thru running and really love the progress I have achieved so far!

Lost 13kg thus far and it feels really good! Went to a new sports store that just opened yesterday, needed some new training clothes.

Finally under the 90kg!
The feeling when you step on the scale and realize you finally dropped under 90kg is amazing!
I celebrated by getting myself a new t-shirt and hoodie.. in size M! Fits perfectly! I used to wear XXL or XL.
Real confidence booster! :D
